I am a media composer born and raised in Singapore, and currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. I believe music serves as a powerful voice that stories can use to let themselves be heard, and I wish to contribute to the world in the best way I know how: writing music to amplify people’s stories. I draw musical inspiration from many sources, primarily the soundtracks to movies, TV shows and video games, as well as famous composers of concert music. The result of this mix of influences on my music is a compositional voice which favors hybrid orchestral instrumentations, simple and memorable melodies, colorful but “inevitable” harmonies, and highly episodic forms. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music, where I studied linear and interactive media scoring, and now I am venturing into composing music from cultures all over the world and exploring unfamiliar genres.
